Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain. I received an invitation from the Water District today to judge their Poster-making contest next month. I guess that was 'cause I won first place in the same contest when I was an elementary student... hmm... that was kinda a long time ago... *blinkage* -SO- What do you wear when you judge something? xD And how the heyho will they introduce me? Hmmm... Interesting... I'm thinking more like... *elevator music* Ahahahahah! God I crack myself up sometimes. xD But hey, I get to see these kids work... and I want to see if they'll do something new... or if they still do what I did, which was to murder the hell out of crayons and oil pastels just to color every bit of paper possible, and in many instances my fingers got stiff the next few days. Ahh, those were the days. I continued the poster-making thing 'til high school and that's pretty much the bulk of my HS extra-curric. Heck, there were times I didn't even know that the school already signed me up for some random contest! There were also times that I was the lone representative for my school when everyone else had 5 people working on 1 entry... that sucked (I won 3rd and my school didn't even know I won!) xD I have -no- idea why I won a lot 'cause there were a hella lot of better artists... I was just in it to miss class, really (AND to get free stuff OR win money OR get a trophy AND add to my extra curricular list). :P People did say my works stick more to the theme and stuff that's why they're placers... I wish I still have my old entries... I'm curious to see how much I sucked back then. =P ![]() Tuesday, February 26, 2008My... hairdryer... is... BROKEN!!! OMFG IT'S BROKEN! *runs around house in berserk mode, then sulks in a corner* Mph.. I spent my remaining money on this thing before finally coming back here in BXU to start my biz, and now the darned thing is broken! What happens to my hair, damnit! You all know I don't care much about my face except my hair! *sniffles* It's the only nice thing I have.... UWAAAAAAAaaaaaa... *burrows a hole in the ground, covers herself in darkness and random gloomy things, and stays there* ![]() Sunday, February 24, 2008LOL@Eubel (Europe) message. xD (Sorry about the craziness yesterday... I hope you didn't suffer long-term damages). Anyway, yeah, yesterday afternoon WAS crazy! Suzette decided to randomly drop by my house for some weird reason and me being me, I was on the verge of spitting venom at anyone and anything that wakes me up (I was on my "powernap" since I know I'm going to stay up late to work on someone's site layout)... but Suzette got me a burger meal to pacify me and probably stop impending doom (salamat sa Jolebs nang! I love their burgers gyud!). :P Ahahahah. Sorry 'Set... you know me na. ;) Good save tho! So what happened was that I got to go out of my house and for the first time went "somewhere" in my neighborhood (I don't go anywhere else around the area except to go to my cousins next door)... Suzette wanted to reload her phone ('cause she has a -LOT- going on there!) so we went at some nearby sari-sari. Uh, what else? Since this is Suzette that means more talking... talking (and bickering) and randomness... like her checking out my Pullips! She was shocked to see them in person 'cause she originally thought they were crazy-small a la Polly Pocket! xD Silly bunny! But she did say they were pretty so I'm happy she doesn't think they're freakish. ;) Suzette ended up staying for dinner (but I didn't eat 'cause I was already full from her burger peace offering and I was STRESSED OUT with a client). Hayrm... And... nag-brownout! xD And so, poor Eubel arrived at my house in darkness... but I guess that would almost always be the impression I give off to people anyway... but I never thought it would be so literal! ;) He's Suzette's friend, by the way... I think they were classmates in high school, ne? Yeah. ^_^ He was one of the people I met the last time I hung out with Suzette (the bar thing? Bad margarita, remember?) Ah! And before you say I'm a totally heartless wench, again: ![]() Congrats on passing the Nursing thing!!! So, back to the blog.. hmm... well, more talking/bickering/randomness/bothering Eu(-bel/-rope) (the lights went back on sometime between that and everyone can see my still just-woke-up face)... they went home around 11pm... and after all that... I FORGOT TO SERVE THEM TEA! Shame on me... :'( But it was fun, you guys! You should wake me up more often! --- Or not. Maybe with a burger. Thanks! ;) ![]() Sunday, February 17, 2008 Whee! I'm about 2 episodes away from finishing Azumanga Daioh!I love it so much! ^_^ Like I said, after watching Ouran I suddenly felt like looking for more animes that are funny and high-school based. Azumanga Daioh is about 6 high school girls and 2 of their teachers... it basically looks into their lives as they experience the ups and downs of school life... And these experiences aren't really major, just normal high-school stuff like exams, sports festivals, field trips, summer vacation, etc. but what's significant is how they each deal with these with their different personalities, usually resulting to a lot of hilarious situations and musings. :P Characters on the picture (L-R): Yomi, Osaka, Chiyo, Sakaki, Kagura, and Tomo (you know, I'm getting a hang of memorizing Japanese names xD) Yomi is the most level-headed of the group (and another meganekko girl... or a character with eyeglasses like Kyoya of Ouran). She's the complete opposite of hyperactive Tomo, and thinks twice before saying anything. She is constantly trying to loose weight and is very sensitive about it (but Tomo keeps reminding her :P). Osaka is... well... an enigma. :P Her real name is Kasuga but Tomo decided to name her on the place she transferred from. xD She can be viewed as a slow person... she daydreams a lot and has a very short attention span... but for people who really know her, she just has a very unique way of thinking (she's actually very good with word puzzles). Chiyo is the youngest of the group and is a child prodigy. She's actually just 10 years old but is the smartest of her class! Being the youngest and smallest makes her somewhat their class mascot because of her cuteness, but she's quick to remind younger students to regard her as their "sempai" (upperclassman). But every now and then she still gets to wear the cute cat or penguin costume to reel in some attention for her class (especially on cultural festivals). ;) Sakaki is the tallest and the most silent of the group, same with Mori of Ouran. Their other similarities include being good at sports and looking out for the group's smallest member (in this case, the cute Chiyo). ;) While Sakaki may seem aloof and silent, she is actually a very sweet girl that loves anything cute, especially cats! Unfortunately most cats she gets close to will scratch or bite her. xD Kagura is equal to Sakaki on athletics (except Kagura is really dedicated to it whereas Sakaki just does sports when she needs to :P) She's also part of the swim team and also comparable to Tomo in being hyper. xD Kagura used to take everything Sakaki does as a challenge to compete with her (like eating bento) but later on she realized Sakaki isn't really that interested and just wants to look around for cats intead. And lastly, Tomo, who is everyone's energy put together... she just.. doesn't get tired! xD She is really the most random, outspoken, and just wee bit too honest for her sake, but I guess that's what makes her Tomo. :P She likes not thinking about exams (or if she HAS to, she'll think of ways to somehow make the entire experience bearable... but she passes them anyway)... and loves challenging Kagura with anything (and usually loses). :P Special Mention: ![]() (L-R): Yukari-sensei, Kurosawa-sensei, Kaorin, Kimura-sensei) Yukari-sensei is the girls' homeroom (and english) teacher. She's really close with her students so they fondly call her Yukari-chan. She can be a bit blunt (telling students the stress of school is -nothing- compared to the stress of work :P) and is particularly honest about preferring summer vacation over school. She likes to compete with fellow teacher Kurosawa-sensei who she's good friends with since high school. Kurosawa-sensei is the very popular gym teacher at school. She is more calm than Yukari and may be a better teacher (Yukari is known to change random subjects when she's bored with english :P). Kurosawa is a bit sensitive to her love life which Yukari sometimes uses as a weapon to tease her. Kaorin is under Kurosawa-sensei's class and is a bit obsessed with Sakaki. Whether she feels more than an excessive amount of admiration for Sakaki is still debatable, but she almost always daydreams about Sakaki in various situations (usually Sakaki is like her knight in shining armour) ;) Kimura-sensei is the school's most perverted teacher... he's usually seen gawking away at schoolgirls and is not too reserved in asking them to wear their gym outfits all day. :P While he appears to be a bit strange he is really harmless and is often visited by his pretty wife who hands him his daily "Love Wife Bento". :P So there you have it! Azumanga Daioh! Please watch! You'll love the random funnies and kawaii overload! :) ![]() Thursday, February 14, 2008Wow! Happy Anniversary, Ampersand & Ampersand! My blog is now officially 4 YEARS OLD! ![]() Congrats Mar, congrats! Bravo, bravo! Clap clap! :P Oh yeah, Happy Valentines too. ![]() (To the idiot who still hasn't found me... good job :P) ![]() Wednesday, February 13, 2008 Aha! Or... nothing, really, I just wanted to say that 'cause it's so random. :PActually, I'm just done watching Chibi Vampire Karin. I was looking around for some more funny high school animes and I stumbled into this one (plus: vampire!). Pretty OK series to pass time while staying indoors from all the rain we had recently. Characters in the picture: Karin (Purple hair), Kenta (Blonde), Ren (Blueish hair, Karin's brother), Anju (Silver hair, Karin's sister) The story's pretty weird... Karin Maaka (or Marker) belongs to a family of vampires that migrated to Japan and lived in hiding. Unfortunately the vampire Karin's a bit of an anomaly because she can walk out during daytime, she goes to school, eat (and cook) normal food, and while her family survives by sucking the blood from their victims, she actually produces too much of it that she either gets severe nosebleeds or injects blood to her victims after she bites them! xD And, well, she usually does not resort to biting people so when she feels she's about to burst from too much blood (often because she's nervous or embarrassed that her heart just pumps too much), she just get this fountain of a nosebleed instead! This has become a source of embarrassment to her (and at some extent, her family's) and so she tries her best to avoid such situations... until Kenta Usui appeared. Kenta Usui is the new transfer student and somehow he always manages to make Karin nosebleed a lot lately. Since she discovered that certain vampires are attracted to blood of people with certain characteristics, she learned as to why Kenta makes her feel this way. She is attracted to Unhappiness (her father is attracted to people with pride, her mom for liars, her brother for stress, and her sister for jealousy). She then tries to find out what makes Kenta unhappy, at first for a selfish reason so that when she learns what makes Kenta happy, she can make him so so that she won't have to suffer even more nosebleeds. But in the end, she discovers she wants Kenta happy for other reasons too... Not gonna ruin the entire story, but that's basically the premise of the entire thing. Some funny moments incur because of Karin's "abnormalities", and the entrance of a very blonde, very silly vampire hunter named Winner. :P I've known it for a few days now but it's just started to sink in so... I'm going to Singapore on the first week of March!!! ^__^ Wheee! *hands everyone cookies in celebration of her first ever overseas trip* Ahahahah! Ang cute, right? But it's true! It IS my very first overseas trip and I'm so psyched about it! I don't even have to worry about my plane ticket fares and the hotel stay 'cause my grandparents are taking care of that! All I had to do is come along and bring some shopping money for souvenirs! Yay! (Well, since Singapore's a really expensive place I guess it won't make much sense to buy a lot there... I guess I'll be in it for the whole tour/food thing! Yay food!) So the biggest problem I'll be facing now would be to get an extra set of batteries and bigger memory for my camera and figure out what kind of shoes to bring that's comfortable enough for all-day walking while not looking like some podiatric idiot (in short, I still want to look cute without bringing on the grandma sandals, ok?) I guess I can always wear my nicer shoes and bring along some flipflops or flat sandals on my bag to change when my feet hurt. o.O Weird thing is my feet really hurt more when I walk around wearing flats... Or, wait, my feet hurt when I wear heels or wedges BUT my legs would hurt when I wear flats... does that make any sense? :-/ So now what? Anyhoo... I'm really excited... I'm hoping my camera won't die out on me 'cause I'm planning to take a LOT of pictures... Too bad my Singapore friends aren't living there anymore (they've moved to America... I've known them since 2003). *sigh* I hope my grandparents will allow me to go around on my own.. I'd really like to check out Magma Heritage. It's a shop with a really extensive collection of dolls including Pullips. I've emailed them already for directions (they gave me a map I could print out and show a cab driver) and they have a $5 (around p145) entrance fee (redeemable if I purchase anything). *excited* So it's the tour, the food, a couple of souvenirs to bring home, Magma Heritage, a possible subway train ride, AND I've got to test the whole clean thing... :P I'd just have to do all I can to make this the bestest first trip EVER! GANBARIMASU!!! ![]() Sunday, February 10, 2008Ahihihi! I just finished reading all 12 volumes of the Ouran HS Host Club manga (also still onging so I'd have to wait for other volumes to be released)... The anime's pretty well done in terms of following the story... of course there are some ingenious methods of combining facts and some minor chapter aspects here and there... but overall true to the manga. Butbutbutbut... Here's another fan video compilation for the Ouran anime at YouTube... Kyouya and Nekozawa... the Ministers of Evuuuuhl... xD What do our hosts listen to in their iPods? xD ![]() Saturday, February 09, 2008![]() Ahihihihi! So anyway, a week ago Suzette asked me if I could go with her to some new bar-thing (it was actually where my old nursery school was! Ahahahah!)... Normally I frown upon activities that concern drinking and/or socializing in general, but around that time I was feeling pretty down about getting older and I wanted to try new things before I wrinkle up so I said yes! xD We scheduled our night out for Friday (that was yesterday) :P But yeah, it was actually fun. I tried a margarita (it was blue... I didn't like it... it looked way cooler and tasted way better in my imagination) and Suzette got a long island iced tea (which I liked than the stupid blue concoction). She brought along her friends too (all boys... one of them used to be my classmate in grade school) and they were pretty fun (took me a bit of time to warm up to them, as usual, given my antisocial/suspicious nature). We played darts later on and it was pretty fun since we had to resort to making up rules on how to gain points since none of us know how to play the darned thing anyways... And I think I may have missed and stuck them pin-things on the wall (and the ceiling once). xD What else? Hmmm... Oh! We had to go home quite early since Suzette had class the next day (I asked her days before that I may just stick around 'til 10 or 11pm since I've got work... but I did everything last Thursday so I was clear to stay 'til whenever). We went home around 12 midnight (I know... still early, right?) But I'm totally ok with it 'cause when we turned around the main highway, the whole frikkin place was surrounded by fog! It was so weird... o.O Like, not super thick but you still can't see anything further than the car before you! So yeah, I guess it was better to for me and Suzette to go home early 'cause of that thing (not that I didn't care what would happen with the rest of our companions... but since Suzette is closest to me personally... :P) Overall, it was fun. ^_^ I should really open up to new experiences... And I just realized that since I'm actually 23 this year, I think the parents-won't-let-me card is of no use now (yeah, it expired since I was 18, DUH!) Ahahahah! Sorry, but I usually hide under that excuse for ages (not that my parents won't really let me... in most cases they really do want me to go out more :P). I guess I'm just too timid in bar scenes and other places I don't usually go to 'cause I'm always thinking about what would happen, and how to act, and what to do, and who would bring me home, etc etc... in short, I think too much to enjoy anything :P ... Not that I'll be bar-hopping from now on... :P There aren't even really good bars around anyway (good thing) -but- I guess now I can consider going and not just say no flat out. :P (Click arrow to start music) This Love - Angela Aki “Ai ga areba heiwa da” to Dareka ga kuchi ni shiteita Unazuku hito mo ireba, utagau hito mo iru Kurushimi ga aru kara koso Anata wo dakishimeru toki Sono ude no yasashi sa wo Heiwa to kanjiru no deshou Aru toki kara mukuchi ni nari kokoro wo shimekiri Kono koi ga hikisakare sou ni natta Kasaneta kono te wo Kondo wa hanasa nai Shinjiru chikara ga Ai wo jiyuu ni suru Yuujou ni sukuwaretari, Mirai wo souzou shitari Shiawase wa mieru keredo Jibun wo miru koto wa nai Yakusoku to iu watashi-tachi no KONPASU dakedewa kono koi wa hougaku wo miushinau no Kiseki wo matsu yori Kono te wo tsunagitai Shinjiru chikara ga Watashi wo jiyuu ni suru Kono koi wo osorezu ni You don’t have to fear this love this love Kasaneta kono te wo Kondo wa hanasa nai Shinjiru chikara ga Ai wo jiyuu ni suru Kiseki wo matsu yori Kono te wo tsunagitai Shinjiru chikara ga Watashi wo jiyuu ni suru See Blood+ video here: ![]() Wednesday, February 06, 2008Hello! As promised, characters from Ouran KouKou Host Club! ![]() Okay, so before the intros, the Host Club's popularity with the school is mostly because the hosts have different personalities that cater to every girl's needs. The club is really just a group of cute guys making a profit out of making-kilig to girls at the school. They don't really form any relationships with their clients and sometimes they even help out in pairing their schoolmates to one another (via Tamaki's sometimes not-so-brilliant plans of action... because a host's duty is to bring fortune to girls... either to be entertained, talked to, or just see some of the schools' most handsome guys OR to realize that someone somewhere likes them.) First one is Tamaki-kun. He's the club's president and self-proclaimed "King" of the club (because 70% of the girls ask for him than anyone else). He's a bit of a narcissist (believes himself as a work of art, and it would be a shame not to share his beauty to the world), BUT he is also kind-hearted. He's also very protective of Haruhi (he likes to call himself her father :P), but in later episodes he will try to make sense as to why he's really protective and caring towards her. He's also very sensitive that whenever Haruhi says something tactless he would crouch at the nearest corner and sulk... but he almost always recover after a tiny hint of praise (directed to him or not :P). He is the "Prince type". Kyouya-kun is the vice president of the Host Club and probably the most level-headed of them all. He's Tamaki's closest friend (most regard him as the Shadow King because he can sway Tamaki's decisions on club activities and such :P). Kyouya is mostly found taking down notes or typing away at his laptop to record, calculate, and make strategies for the club's funds, activities, and whatnot. He is sometimes known to sell his clubmates' photos (and sometimes possessions) for their adoring fans... but he says it's to gain more money for the club. :P He is the "Cool type". (Cool here being "calm" or "collected"... but yeah, I can say Kyouya is cool-cool too ;)) Honey-kun is the cutest member of the club, having a childish personality (he carries around his stuffed bunny, Usa-chan and he adores cakes!) But looks can be deceiving as he specializes in martial arts. He is actually the eldest of the group (he's 18!) but that doesn't stop him from loving anything cute. He is the "Loli-shota type" (short for lolita shotacon... meaning a preference to younger or baby-faced boys). Mori-kun is the tallest and stoic member... he hardly says anything except to grunt in agreement. He is usually found carrying Honey-kun on his shoulders (they're cousins and they're the same age), and usually watches over and protects Honey from any danger (even tooth decay). Nothing much can be said about Mori-kun... he's THAT mysterious. :P He is the "Wild type" (I have no idea why he's the wild type.. he's really reserved and just keeps to himself almost all the time. -.-;) The twins Hikaru and Kaoru should be called the wild ones, really. They're usually the ones trying to start something when things get too boring around the club. They market their "forbidden brotherly love" to their fans, teasing everyone that they might or might not be lovers (of course it's taboo that they're already bothers AND twins at that!). Kaoru is born a few minutes ahead of Hikaru... so he is usually the more mature and level-headed of the two. Along the way the two may realize they like Haruhi... but one of them has to sacrifice their feelings towards the girl for his brother's sake. They're the "Little Devils" type. :P And of course, we all know who Haruhi is. ;) To pay for her debt (she broke an 8-million yen vase), she has to dress up as a guy so she can be a host to work it off. She's one lucky girl to be stuck in a situation where she's surrounded by different types of gorgeous guys every day. While she is super intelligent (otherwise she won't be accepted at Ouran), she can be clueless as to which of the guys are actually showing signs that they like-like her... Who will she pick? Hmm... (She's called the "Natural Rookie" type) I personally think she's better off with Mori-kun... but I guess so far Mori is too busy keeping an eye on Honey to like her (although he has shown fondness for her.. but it's mostly friendly). So it's probably Tamaki (if he'll stop pretending he's her dad...) or one of the twins (not telling who's leading right now). But wait... Kyouya is also showing signs too!... DUN DUN DUUUN... *sigh* Lucky girl. xD I'd wear slacks, tie, and jacket too if I can be surrounded by THAT group! Who wouldn't! Ahahahahah! Special Mention: ![]() Nekozawa-kun is the president of the Black Magic Club. Whether the club really has other members or not is still debatable :P [EDIT! There ARE members of the BMC! 4 others aside from Nekozawa! (Just read the manga Vol 10 Chap 41)] Nekozawa is usually found walking around wearing a dark robe and donning on a dark green wig (he's actually a blonde). He's photophobic so he is very very sensitive to light... the twins once pointed a torchlight on him and he went berserk (called them murderers) xD Along with Nekozawa-kun's quirks is his affinity for cats, and has a special kitty puppet named Beelzenef that he carries around to "haunt" people. :P (He's a silly emo/goth and I love him!) Kasanoda-kun (or "Casanova-kun" or "Bossa Nova-kun" by the club members... xD) came to the Host Club to ask for Mori-kun's help. He's the son of a very established Yakuza family and he was unfortunately born with a fearsome face (he associates with Mori because he believes Mori is also a scary-looking person but somehow people are drawn to him... and Tamaki explains that it's because Mori has Honey, his "lovely item"... which is like something that distracts someone from fearing a person by showing a cute "something", in this case, the loli-shota on his shoulders) :P. In actuality, Kasanoda is a nice guy who just wants to kick cans with his gang members and dispel the old impression that he is a menacing monster out to squish anything in his path. He is also falling for the clueless Haruhi after he discovered "he's" really a she. xD Renge-san is a full-fledged otaku (one who is overly enthusiastic/obsessive about a hobby, in this case, her love for romantic video games which oftentimes blurs her grasp of reality) and idolizes anything moe (or a fetish for video game /anime/manga characters). She is originally in love with Kyouya-kun when she confuses him for her "fiance" (in a character on her video game), but since that didn't work out, she proclaimed herself a co-manager of the Host Club, appearing now and again to point out different facts via a motor-powered rotating platform (that can sprout from anywhere, anytime.) :P ![]() Sunday, February 03, 2008![]() This 5-Star Blog Award is given to a blogger whose blog is of highest classification. A blog of excellence in the following criteria: - content, design and style, informative and accommodating. Lookie what I got from Sis Yesha!!! Thank you, thank you! *pirouettes around* Mwah! ^_^ ![]() Saturday, February 02, 2008*sigh sigh sigh sigh* I've finished watching Ouran HS Host Club... *sigh* Endings make me sad... Even though it WAS a great ending (a HAPPY ending at that)... But still... I didn't want it to end!!! *sniffles* ![]() All those bishies... Tamaki-kun, Kyouya-kun, Mori-kun, Honey-kun, Kaoru-kun, and Hikaru-kun... and also Nekozawa-kun and our lovely Yakuza-heir Kasanoda-kun (Bossa Nova xD)! WAAAAH! *dies* I'd... I'd want to visit Ouran High and go to the third music room and visit the hosts... *sniffles* I hate anime! WAAAAAH! I hate that they take me away from reality! *sobs on a corner* Bbbut... of COURSE I love anime too!!! Because they take me away from reality! Ahahahahahahah *pirouettes around* --- Oh my... I'm more insane than usual... Sorry everyone. I just feel a wee bit down and extra weird when an anime series I really like ends. I see endings of good things like little deaths... and the only thing you can do is replay the memory over and over yet you know that no matter how much you replay it, it will never go further than when it had ended... it can never take another step from that... and that's kinda sad, neh? BUT anyway, if you have time please DO watch Ouran High School! It's great! The series gave me my much-needed happies for the past three days! SUMMARY: Ouran is a school exclusively for children from wealthy and influential families (from Japan and the world over). On a rare occasion this school will also admit the not-so-privileged, provided they match their standards in being brilliant (intellect-wise, talent-wise). Fujioka Haruhi is one of those special students. Now, one day she was having a particularly hard time looking for an area to study so she stumbled upon the third music room... which turned out to be the official club headquarters for the Host Club. What the Host Club is about: "Ouran Private Academy is defined by one, prestigious families, and two, wealth. And prosperous people have much time on their hands. Therefore, this Ouran Host Club is about these handsome guys that have time giving hospitality to these lovely ladies who also have time and profit off of them. Because Haruhi knocked over a very expensive vase after entering the music room, she was tasked to repay for the item by joining the Host Club (since she cannot afford to pay for it from her own pockets). Since she has cut her hair (a boy stuck a gum to it) and didn't mind being mistaken as a boy (a kawaii boy anyway), she agreed. Here she will experience the other side of school life that she's been missing (having fun with friends) and one by one unraveled the unique personalities of the members composing the Host Club. She used to have her preconceptions about each of them (she calls them 'rich bastards') but in the end, she grew to love their easy-going and accepting nature. Yay! Introductions of characters later! ^_^ |
