Yay! Haruhi-sama has arrived! She's sooo tiny (just around 5") but you get used to it after a while (I guess I've been around Pullips for so long)! :P Anyway, it's still a good size... enough to observe Max Factory's awesome details and paint job and also the excellent range of articulation the joints have for really, really cool action poses!

And since I just really like documenting things, here's a few "unboxing" and pose pics. And yes, unboxing something is always A VERY IMPORTANT MOMENT! (It feels like Christmas!) :P

Presenting! SOS Bridage Chief Suzumiya Haruhi!

More pics HERE!

I don't know if this is staged or not, but this is the funniest (and most annoying) thing I've heard online in a loooong time! DANG THIS GUY IS A TOTAL DOUCHEBAG! xD

Here's a transcript of what "Dimitri" said on both voicemails:

Message 1:

Hey Olga, it's Dimitri.

Sorry I had to leave such a rushed message with you when we met the other day. I just wanted to quickly give you my phone number, and needed to get the heck out of the area. In any event, I thought I had better leave you a more detailed message and explain why I approached you. I am single. I have no trouble meeting women; I mean, women approach me six or seven times a day. But I'm extremely particular about what I like. You're an extremely elegant woman. I couldn't take my eyes off you, and your friends were very jealous, even if they say they weren't they were envious of the fact that I approached you, and I was very taken by you. Elegant women are very rare. I'm Greek and I'm extremely particular about what I like. So I'm giving you an opportunity here. I don't know if you picked up the message on the weekend but I'm working on a movie script so I'll be doing that all weekend…

This looks like land line, and if it is, you may not get the message till Monday. But when you do, call me and we'll get together for coffee or drinks, and let the romance begin. You looked very taken aback by my approach, and I hope that wasn't timidness, I hope it was just shock at being approached so directly. Because I don't really date timid women, because I'm a very direct, very passionate, very assertive man, and I want a woman who is very independent and strong. So… we'll talk about that, but I just wanted to formally introduce myself. I leave the ball in your court. You call me as soon as you have the courage to. Okay, Olga? Talk to you soon, bye.

Message 2:

Hi there, Olga it's Dimitri calling again, the guy from the street.
I left you a message several days ago you said you were interested. now here's the way I work. I don't like leaving second messages but I like you, you're a very elegant woman, you're very attractive, but, you know, I don't play that game. I know your friends tell you not to return calls, you're playing games like you see in stupid TV shows. So here's how it's gonna work it is now 4:30 on Wednesday. Now I'll assume, I'll assume that you've already left work, because, you know, some people leave work early, so I'll grant you that. But if I don't receive a phone call back from you by 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon I'm no longer interested and I'm going to erase your number. I don't play games like that. I'm completely single, I'm very intelligent, I'm great in bed, I make great money. Believe it or not, I'm a complete catch. I've only been single four months; I had a long distance relationship for about a year, it's very tough to maintain it like that; there's nothing wrong with me. As a matter of fact I'm one of the few men in the city that has nothing wrong with him. So I'm giving you the three o'clock deadline. If I don't hear from you by then, you lose my number — I'm erasing your number right now, so you won't be hearing back from me.

So that's it: three o'clock tomorrow, or you can just completely forget it.

Now I understand if you've got other issues, maybe you're not playing games, I don't know… maybe you were abused in childhood?…Maybe your mother has cancer, and you're going to chemo…maybe you're just a person who's extremely frightened or has an anxiety disorder, maybe you're on some medication for that…I don't know, there could be another issue that I'm not aware of.

But nobody says "Call me," hands a person a business card and then doesn't return calls. It's extremely passive aggressive. You should actually look that up, passive-aggressive personality disorder.

You let me know, if you've got issues, psychological issues, if you're on any sort of medication for anxiety or depression, I'm not interested. But if you're psychologically normal, and you haven't called me because there's been some horrible thing that's happened in your life that's prevented you from returning my calls, that's fine. But otherwise? Don't call me. Okay, bye.

Ahhhh the doucheness... xD
Kung sa ato pa, mao ning feeler ug assumer! Ahahah!
Too bad I'm not his type what with the "depression" and "medication" and all.
I'm missing a LOT right there! *sarcasm*

My little Pullip Family

Hay... if I have the choice, this would be the best durned life I would ever want to live: Work... Work... Otaku... Work... Work... Crazed Anime/Manga Fan... Work... Work... Attend Conventions... Work... Work... Cosplay... Work... Work... Dolls & Figures

Well, of course, with some factors I can't really come close to having the crazed otaku life of my dreams, like... hmm... well I don't have a lot of moolah to do any of the following:

- fly to places to join conventions (anime/hobbies conventions are usually in Manila... which is already far away :P ... I wanted to join this year's ToyCon last June 14-15 but, ahem, no money for tickets and I didn't know it was happening anyway... I'm always late in learning about stuff like that... Dollhauz had a spot there and Pullip owners were planning to meet up too)
- get anime/japan-related goodies (most sold here are overpriced and I don't have the means to buy stuff online... no credit card / no paypal)
- since I can't sew clothes, I would have to either buy costumes or have it made by someone... both still need money *sigh*
- most importantly, meeting up with people with the same interests/hobbies as I do =( As of now, I don't know anyone in Mindanao who has Pullips or is interested in collecting anime-related items and I'm about to burst! I can't even talk to anyone about the animes I've seen or manga I've read... (maybe that's why I obsessively blog about it xD)

So yah... I kinda feel alone about my interests sometimes. I'd like to talk about it with my friends and I think they try to get what I'm into but... you know... not on the same level of enthusiasm as someone who also collects or watches/reads stuff.

It's kinda sad but I'm soldiering on. I guess one day I might be able to cross paths with an enthusiast (here in Butuan?!?!) Or be able to take time (and save money) to travel and join some conventions... or maybe I'd win the lotto and I'll be able to horde all those Figma, Nendoroids, and Pinky Street figures I wanted! And Pullips, Pullips, Pullips! *DIES* (Pwede man mag-damgo right?)

But instead of feeling too sorry for myself (because of my location, and my place, and how I needed to bleed off a good amount of work just to get 1% out of my wishlist), I guess there's no point feeling too depressed and just push on. It might be my way of telling myself I can never be swallowed by this little town with zero hobby shops and zero outlet for individuality... Hrm.

Well, let us soldier on, shall we?
My backdrop is sick but I'll always have a determined look on my face!
I will break into the life I am destined to live and so help me God I will do it even if my nails will come off from scratching the edge to get out of this constricting barrell!

Wahey! I managed to find someone who can sell me Haruhi Suzumiya Pinky:St figures! Aren't they awesome? They WILL burn a hole on my wallet though... *sigh* But come on... how can I complain when they are THIS kawaii and I can buy them without going through Paypal and ridiculous customs fees?!? The seller already has Haruhi in stock, but she has to wait for the rest of the girls (Mikuru, dear dear dear Yuki, and Tsuruya) to arrive in July. *happy glow* I hope this will start off my new Pinky Street collection (Collection nasab?! Murag daghan ug kwarta no? Wala raba! Ahahahahah! --- 'Ge nalang oi... xD )

I love The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi! xD I've seen this a few months ago (I can't believe I forgot to blog about it!) and I just ordered .avi copies of it online (so I don't have to download at other sites) so I'm re-watching it along with other anime during my 2-week break. It's super funny and I love the story! I actually found this anime on accident (as usual)... I was searching for Haruhi as in Haruhi of Ouran KouKou but I got the Haruhi of North High instead! I wiki-ed it and I got hooked! ^_^

Anyway, just read the Wiki entry to know what it's about (the story's somewhat complicated and I'm too lazy to explain :P) aaaand my favorite character is Nagato Yuki (pic on the left... she's a Data Entity Humanoid Interface... er... that's an alien to you *wink*). As usual, I like her because she's the "silent character", aloof, introverted, and stoic... much like my other fave characters from other titles like Mori of Ouran HS Host Club, Lin of GhostHunt, Haji of Blood+, Doumeki of xxxHolic, Sakaki of Azumanga Daioh, etc etc etc... I'm sensing a pattern here... xD If someone out there's thinking about making a doujinshi of all these characters in one story.... *sigh* I'm gonna die!!! (or not.. but I'll definitely find a scanlation and download!!!)

... And of course there's the Haruhiisms... xD It's a term used for anything Haruhi Suzumiya! If you're a true blue Haruhi fan, you need to learn the Hare Hare Yukai Dance (see below). It's super popular, it just HAS to be performed in every anime/toy convention! Even the Cebu Prisoners danced to it!

Anyway, here's a vid. I'm actually practicing this one just because I have the free time (and I needed a fun way to sweat... plus I never really dance so I'm challenging myself :P Japanese dance steps are so darned complicated!) Watch and enjoy!

And behold the coolness of Yuki.N>

Someone emailed this to me and I was brought to tears:

I don't really know the details of what happened 'cause the email just have pics with the subject "Man's Best Friend", but you can deduce from the pictures that one dog is dead/dying/hurt in the middle of a busy street (maybe he got hit by a car), and his companion, another dog, was sitting beside him, watching over him and never leaving his side. It really makes you think, doesn't it? Animals are such inspirations... and shame on humans who just pass by and looking (even taking pictures!) and nobody even thought of helping the dead/dying/hurt dog by bringing him to a hospital or at least try to get him off the road. :(

It made me think of my Yahoo a lot today. My little companion asks nothing of me but to be loved (and I pour him lots, of course), and he gives my love back to me a hundred fold... he licks my hand to tell me he appreciates me giving him food or scratching his belly, he comes near me when he feels like I'm feeling down, he lets me pat his back when I needed comfort, and he sits still next to me when I needed to talk to him about my problems. And I know deep inside that he understands me. I know his little actions may seem trivial and meaningless to some people (because he's "just" an animal, after all), but I can really say that my little guy has helped me a LOT in the two years he's been with me. He is a blessing and an inspiration with his spirit and his attitude where he will not always do what we ask him to do... he will when he feels like it and when he's good and ready. xD He has also instilled in me a higher regard for animals (well, I've always loved animals, but living with him made me realize they're so much more than just God's other creations). I love him with all my heart I'm sure the rest of my family can say the same.

Yay! My mom and sister returned (and they had LOADS of fun at Singapore and saw way more places than I did while I was there... bummer). Anyway, look what they brought with them!
My two boys Horizon and Lead! I love them! They're both so sexey!

They don't even have proper names or proper pics yet, but no worries. I'll think of names soon and will take decent pics of them when I'm on vacation 2 weeks from now. ^_^
